Dear Colleagues,
The 2009-2010 WIRC Reference Manual is like a work
of art, complete in every sense of the word. It is with great pleasure that I
present this Reference Manual to our members.
We have observed that this year has seen more
changes, which have influenced us all. The Diamond Jubilee Celebrations brought
out dynamism and enthusiasm in all our members and gave us an insight into the
future. At the same time our work and profession is garnering more respect day
by day. Government and other Regulators have started expecting us to provide
them with practical suggestions on how to better serve the common man. On the
top of it due to tireless efforts of our Peers, Indian Chartered Accountants are
respected globally, giving us more opportunities.
It now behoves us to ensure that we remain at the
forefront of our industry. The changing global scenario has cast responsibility
on us to take steps to ensure timely compliance and good governance in all our
transactions. To do that we ourselves have to be ready with a strong and
relevant resource, a knowledgebase which can be easily accessed whenever
required. I am proud to say that this Reference Manual is that relevant resource
and knowledge base.
This year the delayed pronouncement of Union
Budget had posed great challenge before us to bring this Reference Manual in
time. However, I am extremely happy that my entire team has taken this challenge
positively and saw to it that the Reference Manual is ready before the target
date. I would like to take this opportunity and extend my heartfelt gratitude
to, the entire Research & Publications Committee, more particularly the Convenor
of the Committee CA. Durgesh Kabra my other colleagues in the Regional Council
CA. N. C. Hegde, CA. Raju Shah, CA. Shardul Shah, CA. Sanjeev Lalan and Central
Council Members CA. Atul Bheda and CA. Sanjeev Maheshwari for their aid in
bringing this manual to life. I would also like to give due credit for the
tremendous efforts put in by CA. Jayesh Shah, CA. Vilas Karpe, CA. Kishore
Joshi, CA. Rajeev Shah, CA. Vikas Vishwasrao and CA. Jitendra Shah sacrificing
their profession at times, for compilation of this Manual.
Above all, I laud the efforts made by all our
contributors who generously donated their most valuable commodity/time, while at
the same time imparting to us the wisdom of their years of experience in the
most lucid and clear manner. The CD that comes with this Manual will also be a
handy pocket reference.
I am sure that this Manual will be a great aid in
your professional life and will help you serve others better. Your valuable
suggestions will motivate us all to take this premium Publication of WIRC to
newer heights.
